I have all but the last 20 planes left to assign weapon packs to....

After that version 1.0 will begin final testing in a multiplyer LAN game. 1 computer using WinXP 32-bit and 1 using Vista 64-bit.

Despite the fact that the holidays are over I have remained fairly busy. Don't look a gift-horse in the mouth as they say. But my work on Callsign Warlord still continues. :D

Hi Nightwolf.
Is your mod still in progress or did you stop working on it ? It is the most impressive mod, next to the planes_packv13. And you are the only one, who found a way to change the weapon packs.
I also tried to add a plane to HAWX, but fail. Maybe you can help me get the B-1B into the game and add some weapon packs for it. Hope you are still around...

Greetings,

It is still in progress. I have been busy but have also worked on the project as time allowed. I'm happy to say all I have left to do is finish adding packs to some of the MiG and Mirage series and then do some extensive play testing to be sure. Play testing I can do at home. But as someone who has many distractions at home, concentrating on the files needs to be done during spare time at work. I did not complete all of the skins I wanted, but people can and will add whatever they want anyway so that matters little. The weapons packs are what are important at this point..

Hope you can release it soon. All my tries to change the weapon packs failed, because i didn't understand the recompiler and this unknown.txt file. Without this knowhow, i couldn't put the B-1B into HAWX as well. So i tried just to change the E-767 (its useless...) model and skin to that of the B-1B. Also no results... Don't know what im doing wrong. Need some help...

I had time to finish the MiGs today. Still have the Mirage series to go now.

I am not sure how to get the B1-B Lancer in the game. I have no experience when it comes to adding new models and planes. The planes and weapons I am working with were already in the game files.

Ok. Guess i won't find someone else who know how to add a plane... But still looking forward to your work. It sounds very good. Hope you don't forget the Exocet on the Mirage's... ;.)

Callsign Warlord isn't exactly a realism mod but it does put the planes closer to what weapons would actually be available to it. Loadouts may not be true to real life as I am not sure of every plane's config per loadout. But I have done a lot of research on the weapons that would be available. Some planes were not meant for combat, like the SR-71 and some were never entered into production, like the A-12. So there wasn't much to go by on them. Rest assured the Exocet has been mounted and ready to fire and while not every Mirage was outfitted with it, those that were listed as it being available, got it. Some weapons had to be substituted with what I felt was closet. A good example would be the Russian planes. Most of the weapons in the game files are American.

Rules of thumb.
Exocet - Big and bad. But you'll lock on the target long before you can fire. It has low fuel and if you fire too soon it won't make it to the target. If you learn how to use it, it's great but comes with risks so the damage it does does not make it too powerful.

AIM-120 - Air-to-Air only. Fires like a radar-guided missile but you can fire 2 at a time. Great for big targets that take multiple hits but you will need to remain locked till both missiles hit.

Harpoon - Currently works just like the radar-guided for land, sea, and air. If it can be restricted to land and sea, that is the goal.

JDAM - Works like Multi-Target AG Missiles but as falling directed bombs. Sometimes other targets get caught in the bomb's explosion taking them out too.

Skins were never finished so users of Callsign Warlord will need to apply whatever skins they like. It is easy enough.

The weapon packs were difficult to work with and imposed a number of limitations on what I wanted to create, thus I did what I could in the interest of the basis for the mod.

This is a Single Player and LAN Multiplayer mod. If someone wants to make it usable online, they are free to modify this mod to do so. They are also free to use it with their own created mods or expand on what I have done if they wish.

Everything is now complete except the playtesting....when that is done I will post a link.

Also a good mention on one of the weapon pack is more than 2 hard points dedicated to AIM-9s (joint strike missiles) for use in heated dog fights. The ability to fire off 2 missiles on a target and switch targets and weapons quickly to squeeze off 2 more before or by the time the first set of AIM-9s are ready to fire again. In some cases, depending on the target, you can take out 4 targets this way. 8-)

This is kind of embarrassing. I can't find my retail copy of HAWX. I'm not sure if it was swiped here at work or if I loaned it to someone. Regardless, without it I cannot uninstall the game or install it to another machine to test the mod. It runs perfectly on this PC, the one it was created on. I've tested everything on this computer. The PC version doesn't require the disc to play so I didn't notice it missing. It does require the full version of the game.
