Political Responsibility

As citizens of the US (if you are a citizen here), do you believe we have a responsibility to participate in government (e.g., voting, writing letters to officials, keeping up to date on the news, etc.)?

If you don't vote, you can't complain. So I agree we do have a responsibility to participate in government and not let the government run amok. Otherwise you have a Dictatorship. If the U.S. ever becomes one, we are all in trouble.
